On April 11, 2016, I had brain tumor surgery in New York City. The story leading up to the surgery, while I was in the hospital and since then has been shared with family and friends via regular emails and I have so much content that some people have encouraged me to either write a book or blog to share my story. After thinking about a book – which would be a lot more work and would mean having to find a publisher, work with an editor and deal with promotion – I decided a blog is the better option and I really don’t need to make money from my story; I just want to get it out there for others to hear about and maybe learn something from. So here it is! Most of the content is retroactive, meaning edited or in some cases unedited versions of the emails sent and messages received from friends and family. I will add new content as I experience improvements and/or setbacks (hopefully not many setbacks!), but I hope that the blog has a limited lifespan and will end once I am back to “normal” – whatever that may mean. Your observations and comments are always welcome! Best is to start reading the entry for March 22 where the story begins.
